Seven Zimmerman Reed attorneys were named 2023 Attorneys of the Year. The award recognizes the recipients’ leadership skills, involvement in noteworthy cases, and commitment to public service.
June Pineda Hoidal, Behdad Sadeghi, Charles Toomajian, Carolyn Glass Anderson, Kimberly McNulty, Richard Hansen, and Anna Jenks were recognized for the groundbreaking outcome in State of Minnesota v. Juul Labs, Inc. and are honored to share this recognition with the Office of the Minnesota Attorney General and our co-counsel at Robins Kaplan LLP.
The lawsuit resulted in the largest per capita settlement among the 48 states and territories that have settled with Juul. The case alleged that Juul and Altria deceptively marketed e-cigarettes to Minnesota’s youth. After three weeks of trial, the settlement was announced on the eve of closing arguments.
